Stylage XL with Lidocaine is intended for correcting facial volume loss and deep-set wrinkles.
HOW DOES THIS DERMAL FILLER WORK?
This monophasic gel is optimised based on its indications, which allows for Stylage XL with Lidocaine to have a high performance rate when correcting deep-set wrinkles and volume loss. As well, the density of the target tissue is matched by adapting the viscosity of the gel.
The loss of hyaluronic acid causes a loss in volume and moisture in the skin. Once the quality and quantity of naturally produced HA molecules is reduced, the skin starts to sag and wrinkles form. By injecting this filler, you restore moisture under the skin. This adds volume to sunken areas and fills in skin depressions for a smoother and more youthful complexion. As mannitol is added, a natural antioxidant, the gel is able to last longer before being resorbed into the surrounded tissues. Mannitol helps to reduce inflammatory reactions, and protects against free radicals.
HOW TO INJECT?
This filler should only be injected into the deep dermal or subcutaneous layer. This injectable is only intended for use by legally licensed practitioners.
Before proceeding with the treatment, check the patient’s medical history and inform them of the expected results as well as any potential side effects.
Disinfect the area to be treated and check the integrity of the filler. The gel should not be cloudy. Bring the dermal filler to room temperature if it has been stored in a refrigerator. Attach the needle to the syringe using the Luer lock adapter. Inject into the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer slowly using the serial puncture or linear threading technique. The amount needed will depend on the severity of the concern being treated. Do not over correct. No more than 2mL per treatment area should be injected per session. As well, slight nodules or discolouration can appear if injected too superficially.
HOW LONG DOES THE INJECTION LAST?
This filler can correct volume loss caused by lipodystrophy and deep-set wrinkles for up to 12 months. Maintenance treatments can be scheduled as needed. It is not recommended to inject more than 20mL per patient per year.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
This filler is extremely safe and has a low amount of reported adverse effects. The practitioner should follow strict aseptic standards when administering this treatment.
This filler should only be used for intradermal or subcutaneous injections. Do not use for superficial wrinkles.
STYLAGE XL WITH LIDOCAINE SIDE EFFECTS
Stylage XL with Lidocaine is well-tolerated in most patients. Those with an allergy to any of the ingredients should not receive treatment with this dermal filler.
COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:
Transient erythema (redness)
Swelling
Pain
Usually, the abovementioned side effects are mild and do not last more than a few days. Advise your patient to follow your aftercare methods to encourage quick healing.
SEVERE OR SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS
Haematoma
Necrosis
Discolouration
These rare side effects are associated with unprofessional injection. Follow the manufacturers instructions for use to avoid any unwanted effects. Do not inject this filler intravascularly, or use in patients who are pregnant or lactating. As well, this injectable is not suitable for use in the periorbital or glabellar regions, or the eyelids. Patients who have recently had chemical peels or other treatments should wait to receive this treatment.

Stylage XL with Lidocaine is an innovative filler made using IPN-Like Technology. Composed of 26mg/mL cross-linked hyaluronic acid, 3mg/mL lidocaine, phosphate buffer pH 7.2 and mannitol, this cosmetic injectable can out-perform its competitors. The resulting gel is sterile and apyrogenic.
