Restylane SubQ is an injectable form of hyaluronic acid that is specially formulated for facial contouring. This unique filler increases cheek and chin definition by restoring the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, adding volume to these sallow, aged areas.

WHAT IS RESTYLANE SUBQ?

This injectable solution is made with NASHA Technology, which is comprised of non-animal, stabilised hyaluronic acid. Created through the fermentation of streptococci bacteria, this special form of hyaluronic acid carries a lower risk for allergic reaction, resulting in increased patient tolerability.

Each package of Restylane SubQ contains 1 prefilled 2mL syringe, a package insert, and a patient record label. It is recommended to use a blunt 16–21G cannula with a side exit, as well as a 21G needle.

This dermal filler is manufactured by Q-Med AB, which specializes in the development, manufacturing, and sale of aesthetic solutions.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Restylane SubQ is intended for deep injection into the dermis, adding support and volume to the overlying tissue. Subsequently, facial symmetry and fullness will be restored. This cosmetic treatment is ideal for patients with flattened features, visible signs of ageing, or those with asymmetrical or unbalanced features.

IT CAN BE USED FOR:

Lifting the face and jaw;

Enhancing the cheeks and chin;

Volumising hollow temples;

Softening the skin;

Reducing nasolabial folds;

Lifting the neck;

And correcting facial symmetry.

HOW DOES THIS DERMAL FILLER WORK?

Restylane SubQ is used to add lost volume back into the skin and to sculpt the face. It provides deep dermal support in the skin, contouring the face and creating a youthful appearance. Overall, this filler improves facial shape and definition, without the need for permanent implants or surgery. This allows patients to get the look they desire, without experiencing surgery’s potential complications.

Restylane Sub Q mends the feel and appearance of ageing skin through the power of hyaluronic acid. Because this natural chemical can hold 1,000 times its own weight in water, it works to hydrate the skin by attracting water molecules to the injection site. With this, the skin is nourished, moisturised, and volumised all at once.

What’s more, these water molecules help to fill out the skin, adding definition and volume to sallow areas of the face. For this reason, Restylane SubQ may be used to enhance weak cheek, chin, and jaw structure; fill out thin, wrinkled lips; and replace subcutaneous fat lost to illness or the ageing process.

HOW TO INJECT?

Restylane SubQ is injected in small quantities into the subcutaneous layer of the dermis with an ultra fine needle. In order to increase patient comfort, a local anaesthetic may also be administered to the injection site.

Only licensed medical professionals with training in aesthetic medicine may offer this treatment. Failure to comply with this may result severe injection-related complications. Note that this dermal filler should never be injected into the bloodstream, as this may cause serious and unwanted side effects.

Each treatment may take up to 45 minutes. In most cases, results are instantly visible.

HOW LONG DOES THIS FACIAL FILLER LAST?

Because Restylane SubQ is biodegradable, its effects are not permanent. However, Restylane SubQ has been shown to last between 6 and 12 months. At this time, the patient should return for a follow-up treatment to maintain results.

Please note that the longevity of this product depends on the patient’s biochemistry, age, and the injection site.

IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?

Although Restylane SubQ has proven to be a safe treatment for most patients, certain conditions may prohibit certain individuals from undergoing this procedure. Patients who are hypersensitive to hyaluronic acid should not use Restylane SubQ, as this may trigger an allergic reaction. Also, patients who are taking blood thinners or who have recurring cold sores are not eligible for this treatment.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not receive this dermal filler, as it has not been tested on this population.

WHAT IS IT MADE OF?

As with all products in the Restylane family of dermal fillers, Restylane SubQ is crafted with Q-Med AB’s NASHA Technology. Comprised of stabilised hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin, this unique form of hyaluronic acid ensures better patient tolerability and increased product longevity.

Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in the body. This compound is responsible for skin’s natural hydration and volume, thanks to its innate ability to bind and retain water molecules. With this, it is a necessary factor in the upkeep of healthy, moisturised skin.

During the ageing process, the skin loses its natural hyaluronic acid content. With this, the skin becomes less elastic, smooth, and voluminous, leading to wrinkles and sagging. Through hyaluronic acid fillers, like Restylane SubQ, the skin is able to regain its youthful texture and appearance.
