Juvederm Hydrate is a sterile and transparent physiological solution made of non-animal, stabilised hyaluronic acid. It also includes mannitol, which helps to fight the effects of damaging free radicals. Manufactured by Allergan, this popular dermal filler is specifically designed to improve the skin’s elasticity and hydration via injection into the superficial dermis.

WHAT IS JUVEDERM HYDRATE?

This facial filler is a clinically proven product, and has been found to replenish hyaluronic acid lost during the ageing process or due to environmental damages. Unlike other products in the Juvederm family, this injectable solution hydrates the face, rather than adding volume to it. With this, it gives the skin a very natural, radiant, and toned appearance.

Each package of Juvederm Hydrate includes 1 prefilled 1ml syringe, 2 sterile 30G 1/6” needles, a packaging insert, and a set of traceability labels. This fragile filler should be stored between 2 and 25°C to prevent product degradation.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Juvederm Hydrate is specifically formulated to restore and improve ageing skin’s elasticity and hydration. This injectable solution is not a traditional filler, but instead works as a hydrating agent. It aids the skin's ability to retain moisture, helping it to maintain a naturally healthy appearance.

Hydration is fundamental when it comes to maintaining healthful, strong skin. While moisturising creams only provide temporary moisture, this filler offers long-lasting, deep hydration, leaving the skin looking and feeling rejuvenated. The most common treatment areas for this filler include the face, hands, neck, and decolletage.

HOW DOES THIS DERMAL FILLER WORK?

As the skin ages, it starts to lose its hyaluronic acid content. As well, smoking, sun exposure, and other environmental factors can deplete hyaluronic acid levels. This loss is most visible in the areas that are most exposed to these issues, such as the face, hands, neck and decolletage. Skin moisture and hydration are fundamental in the maintenance of a fresh, youthful appearance.

Juvederm Hydrate directly delivers hyaluronic acid into the skin, reducing the age-related loss of moisture. This smooths out and firms the skin’s appearance, giving it an instantly refreshed look. Unlike other hyaluronic acid-based hydration products, this filler also contains mannitol, an antioxidant agent that can prevent the build up of potentially damaging free radicals. Free radicals can deplete naturally produced hyaluronic acid in the body, causing severe dehydration.

HOW TO INJECT JUVEDERM HYDRATE?

This injectable solution is administered using a syringe with a fine needle. As a mesotherapy treatment, it should be injected in small amounts into the superficial layer of the skin, allowing the gel to flow evenly inside. Treatments usually last from 15 to 30 minutes.

Juvederm Hydrate is formulated to be a skin booster, rather than a dermal filler. It can be used on delicate and thin areas, such as the back of the hands, the neck, the upper chest or the face, to restore hydration. Hydrating the skin in this way can improve the appearance of facial features, giving them a more youthful and vibrant look.

As with any other injectable treatment, it is very important that the procedure is done by a trained and licensed professional. Wait at least 15 days for follow-up treatments.

HOW LONG DOES THIS FACIAL FILLER LAST?

The effects of Juvederm Hydrate usually last between 3 and 6 months, depending on the age and lifestyle of the patient. This is a shorter duration than that of other injectable treatments, due to the product’s superficial—rather than deep—injection into the dermis. Please note that the longevity of this product may be reduced by smoking or with sun exposure.

Results are noticeable almost immediately after the procedure, giving the skin a natural-looking boost of hydration.

IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?

Juvederm Hydrate is safe for use in most patients, as it is based on hyaluronic acid, a component that naturally occurs in the body. That being said, some patients should not undergo treatment with this filler, including those with the following contraindications:

Intolerance, sensitivity, or allergy to hyaluronic acid;

Skin inflammation;

Susceptibility to hypertrophic scarring;

Pregnancy or breastfeeding;

And taking certain medications, including—but not limited to—antibiotics and chemotherapy.

WHAT IS IT MADE OF?

Juvederm Hydrate is made of non-animal, stabilised hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in the human body, but its production is diminished over the years due to ageing and lifestyle factors. This cosmetic procedure works to replace the lost hyaluronic acid, leaving the skin hydrated and with a youthful glow.

This injectable solution is also crafted with mannitol, an antioxidant which works to, decrease redness after injection, maintain the gel’s structure, and reduce any swelling. Mannitol is found in a different vegetables and fruits, as it is a common product of fructose hydrogenation. Please note that patients with active cerebral haemorrhage, anuria, and congestive heart failure should not use fillers that contain mannitol.
