FILORGA POST PEEL 100ml
Filorga Post Peel is a pH 8 basic solution used by medical professionals in combination with chemical peel solutions to neutralize and soothe the skin.
WHAT IS FILORGA POST PEEL?
Created by Filorga Laboratories and manufactured in France, this product is used as part of a non-surgical, non-invasive anti-ageing procedure, and is able to assist in the correction of many superficial skin issues, including dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and dull-looking skin. Filorga Post Peel is sold in a 100mL (3.4 fl. oz.) spray dispenser bottle and should always be stored at room temperature away from sunlight.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
This post-peel soothing solution is used immediately after a chemical peel to assist in halting the activity of the chemical peel acids and neutralise the application area. Using Filorga Post Peel can also assist in calming the patient’s irritated skin, leaving the treated area feeling more refreshed. This product can be used in combination with all of the Filorga line of chemical peel products, including Filorga Light Peel, which is used to treat fine lines in sensitive skin, Filorga Time Peel, which is used to treat wrinkles in normal skin, and Filorga Bright Peel, which is used to treat age spots and hyperpigmentation in normal skin. Filorga Post Peel may also be used with other chemical peel brands and is safe to use on every skin type. For optimal results, this product should also be used with Filorga Pre Peel.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
With a pH of about 8, Filorga Post Peel works to balance the pH of the skin upon application after a chemical peel. To complete a chemical peel safely, the peel needs to be neutralized to halt the actions of the acids. If these acidic ingredients are not neutralized, there is a risk of burning the skin, as the chemical peel treatment will impede the skin cell’s ability to resist acidification. With ingredients that specifically target this process, including sodium bicarbonate, Filorga Post Peel is effectively able to neutralize the acid, resulting in a balanced pH, and soothes the area of the skin that has been irritated by the chemical peel solution.
HOW TO APPLY?
Filorga Post Peel should only ever be applied by a medical professional, such as a plastic surgeon or dermatologist, who is authorized in accordance with local regulations. After applying the chemical peel solution to the patient’s skin and leaving it on for approximately 3 minutes, or the duration instructed by the manufacturer, spray the post peel solution onto a cotton pad or compress. Using the sprayed cotton pad or compress, gently apply the solution to the treatment area. It is important to apply the post peel solution to all areas where the chemical peel has been applied, while avoiding the eyes and mucous membranes. Finally, wet another cotton pad or compress with water and rinse the Filorga Post Peel solution from the patient’s skin. For optimal results, use a pre-peel solution, such as Filorga Pre Peel before applying the chemical peel product.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
When used in combination with the chemical peel solution products from the Filorga line, the entire chemical peel procedure, including the application of the pre-peel and post-peel solution, should only take about 10 minutes. It is this quick treatment time that sometimes has these facial peel procedures called a lunchtime peel, as the entire treatment can be performed over one lunch break. The duration of the results from the treatment will vary by chemical peel used and by patient. When used in combination with any of the Filorga line of chemical peel products, the effects will typically last on average 1 to 2 months. Depending on the desired results of the patient and on the condition of their skin, multiple peeling sessions may be required, and should be administered every couple of weeks.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
Filorga Post Peel is safe, though there are some mild potential side effects that may occur, as well as some intended side effects. While most patients respond well to this product, there are a few precautions that should be taken before application or during treatment. Before the application of the product, it is important to discuss the patient’s medical history as well as any history of allergy or sensitivities. This solution is only intended for external use and contact with the eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. This post peel solution should only be administered by a medical professional, and should not be used on patients who have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this product. Following treatment, the patient should be advised to avoid any UV radiation for a couple of days.
FILORGA POST PEEL SIDE EFFECTS:
The use of Filorga Post Peel does come with some mild potential side effects, as well as some intended effects. As a chemical peel procedure is designed to exfoliate and remove the superficial layer of the skin, the entire process of the chemical peel will result in the peeling of skin in the days following the treatment.
Though this product has proven to be safe and has been used without issue on many patients with all skin types, there are some individuals who should not use this product. The manufacturer lists a few contraindications, stating that this solution should not be used in patients who are breastfeeding or who are pregnant.

Sun sensitivity in the treatment area
LESS COMMON OR RARE SIDE EFFECTS:

WHAT IS IT MADE OF?
