BELOTERO HYDRO 1ml
As part of the Belotero line of fillers, Hydro makes use of a patented Dynamic Cross-Linking Technology that results in a Cohesive Polydensified Matrix to provide an optimized balance of cohesivity, elasticity, and plasticity. This technology allows the filler to match the needs of the patient’s skin for seamless integration and radiant results.
WHAT IS BELOTERO HYDRO?
It is an injectable aesthetic filler designed to rehydrate the skin in order to maintain and restore the elasticity of the skin, resulting in overall radiance. This product is made of a patented combination of hyaluronic acid and glycerol to hydrate and protect the skin for renewed youthfulness. Belotero Hydro is part of the Belotero range of products manufactured by Merz Aesthetics, a division of Merz Pharma Group.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
This product is used for deep rehydration of the skin to moisturize, restore elasticity, and protect the skin from signs of aging and stress. It is designed to ameliorate the tone and texture of the skin in larger areas like the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. Belotero Hydro is made with naturally occurring substances to maintain the skin’s natural flexibility and ensure lasting results. The deep hydration offered by this cosmetic solution improves the overall health of the skin, correct pigmentation, and smooths out any fine lines. This product makes for a perfect entry level treatment and may be the right regimen for patients whose skin is often exposed to the sun, who are smokers, or who have noticed decreased firmness and the appearance of fine lines in any of the areas specified for use.
HOW DOES THIS DERMAL FILLER WORK?
Belotero Hydro uses patented technology to integrate seamlessly with the skin while restoring the hyaluronic acid that naturally depletes from the skin over time. The hyaluronic acid acts as a hydrating agent, while the glycerol also adds a level of hydration and acts as a “protective sheath” of resistance against free radicals to increase the longevity of the effect by slowing down the natural degradation of the hyaluronic acid. The advanced Dynamic Cross-Linking Technology adds two extra phases over standard cross-linking technology, wherein the gel created in the initial cross-linking process expands and then cross-links a second time, and any gaps are supplemented with additional non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. This innovative process allows for a perfect balance of elasticity, cohesivity, and plasticity for optimal malleability, integration, and support for all types of skin.
HOW TO INJECT BELOTERO HYDRO?
Belotero Hydro should only be injected by experienced medical practitioners, and only after a patient’s medical history has been disclosed. Prior to injection, clean and disinfect the treatment area should be with an antiseptic solution. Use a hypodermic 30G needle and administer the solution via superficial microinjections into the skin of the face, neck, décolletage, or back of the hands. Gently massage the area of treatment after injection to ensure uniform distribution. There is typically two phases of treatment: the initial treatment phase and the maintenance phase. For initial treatment, the patient has 2 to 3 treatment sessions held 30 days apart. After the initial treatment, maintenance treatments can be administered once or twice a year depending on the needs of the individual.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The duration of effects varies by patients based on a variety of factors. However, the consensus is that results will last on average for up to 6 months, though sometimes as long as 9 months. As hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance, the body slowly metabolizes the gel over an extended amount of time. The effectiveness of treatment will depend on the age and lifestyle of the patient, the application technique and the area treated, as well as the individual skin type and condition of the skin. Follow up treatments are recommended for longer-lasting results, with the manufacturer recommending one or two touch-ups per year after initial treatment.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
Injection of Belotero Hydro is a safe, non-surgical procedure that introduces a biocompatible and biodegradable solution into the skin. With immediate results and minimal invasion, patients are usually able to continue with their daily activities right after a treatment session. Patients report a high level of satisfaction with this product and it has been used in countless treatments. However, there is a mild risk associated with the use of this product, including the risk of infection.
